I was just wondering what people thought his best films were.

Mine are:

Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Uncle Buck
Cool Runnings

As well as great cameos in, Home Alone and National Lampoon's Vacation.

The Blues Brothers!

"Hi! Wanna hand me the mike? Thanks a lot.
Hi, this is car um... What number are we? "

"Five-five."

"Car 55. Um... we're in a truck!"

Can't remember much of it, but from what I recall he was good in it.

Still can't top Del Griffith. He (and Martin) should've got Oscar's for their performances. It wasn't all for comedy - the last sequence when we find out Del's true story and the subsequent introduction to the family are just perfect portrails.

John candy was one of three great comedians who had an untimely death in the 1990s. the other two being Chris farley and Phil Hartman.

Candy's best movies not in any order in my opinion are

Planes, trains, automobiles
Uncle Buck
Brewster's Millions
Spaceballs
Cool Runnings

'JFK'

Normally when 'comic actors' play a straight role I'm distracted and struggle to take them seriously. Not in this case.

Small part but memorable nonetheless.
