John Belushi in Trading Places

...as a Belushi Fan of over 20 years, the other day my mind (for some reason), wandered to how "Trading Places" might have looked, if Belushi hadn't tragically died?.
I know this wasn't Johns next project, but would have been a distinct possibility because of the involvement of Aykroyd/landis.
Oh well, a nice thought!:)

Don't see where he would have fitted in (unless he would have been cast in the role his brother had). The film is perfect as it is with Ackroyd and Murphy.

Ps Thank's for reminding me of it. It's one of my favorite films, but for some reason I keep forgetting about it.

I beg to disagree, most people summarise Belushi as Bluto in Animal House, BUT, he also successfully played a romantic lead (Continental Divide), and a victim (Neighbors), a role he switched with Aykroyd to try braking his stereotyped image the public had of him. As well as dozens of different characters on SNL.
Belushi was a VERY versatile actor, and his upcoming projects (if made) would have proven this.
A political satire for one.
I imagined John in Murphys role in TP as I thought this would have suited his anarchic personality perfectly!:)
*He was also down for Bill Murrays role in "GhostBusters" too!

Aye, I wonder how different Ghostbusters would have been if that happened along with the planned casting of Eddie Murphy as Winston and John Candy as Louis.

John Belushi was a fine actor but couldn't have replaced Dan Ackroyd in Trading Places and there was no other role for him.

"Looking good Billy Ray."

"Feeling good Louis."

NOOOOOOOOOO , i mean i imagined TP as a "Belushi/Aykroyd" vehicle.
A'La, 1941/Blues brothers/Neighbors-NO Eddie Murphy in sight!(Although TP is one of the few decent films Murphy has made-along with Beverly Hills Cop/48Hours!)
Belushi IN Murphys role, and the rest of the cast/film left as-is!:)
