Hell yeah, chaning up your routine keeps your body from adapting so you burn more fat instead of muscle and you have more dramatic impact on certain key hormones.
However if your jogging/riding for 40 mins or more at a TIME then your body will adapt to it by catabolizing your muscles (basically you'll lose muscle mass) that's why it's bad, so if your ganna jog stick with shorter amounts of time... or if you can do sprints that's even better if you look at cross country runners and ironman athletes they always look like skrawny lil ectomorphs, cuz they burn thru there muscle mass by jogging 10+ miles.
