Jodie Foster is one of the best actresses of her generation

I watched her in Anna and the King yesterday and her performance was superb, she managed to get the English accent just right.

More than that its her variety which makes such a good actress.

She's one of those rare people that have been around since she was a young child (starting off in several 60's comedy sitcoms) so many people have 'grown up' with her. I think she selects roles carefully and takes a few years sometimes in between roles. I was surprised to see her in "Un long dimanche de fian

And who could forget the original Freaky Friday?
She's an excellent actress, and v attractive to boot, which always helps! I feel she brings an intelligence to her roles which a lot of actresses can't achieve. I don't always like her characters, or even empathise with them, but I usually admire them.

I do like Foster don't get me wrong but I do feel that she is perhaps typecast in a certain "strong woman/mother" role these days probably because of the lack of parts for women over 40 in Hollywood. That said she is excellent in Nell.

Sarah Polley would be my choice for actress of her generation (maybe with Samantha Morton in second place).

I thought she was amazing in Flightplan, and I saw in her Anna and the King too and she was brilliant. I think she's had a lot of roles where she's been strong and independent but i remember reading an interview with her where she said she liked to play strong women so maybe its her choice just to accept that kind of role.

Oh yes, she is just fantastic! She was excellent in The Sweet Hereafter.

As for Foster, I will watch anything she is in, fabulous actress. Didn't she say the reason she takes strong roles is because she wouldn't know how to play someone weak? something like that anyway.

She's 17 years younger than Jodie Foster and Samantha Morton is 15 years younger than Foster.

I agree, they're both a different generation. Jodie Foster had made Taxi Driver, Bugsy Malone and Freaky Friday before either of them were born.

How did you win the films?
Lucky you... ;)

I love her as well. Freaky Friday is one of my favourite movies of all time. She was great in "The Accused", Silence of the Lambs, everything.
Hoping she can win another AA one day.
Also loved Little Man Tate

I love Jodie Foster, she's my second fave actress

I love her acting style

She was great in Flight Plan but I think her best performance was Silence of the Lambs, concidering her age and the role she had to play

She was fantastic in Contact, which is also one of my fave films:D

Now I think about I don't think theres any Jodie Foster film I don't like, she seems to be good in everything shes in.

I like Jodie Foster, brilliant actress. However Flightplan was the second worst film I saw last year, such a terrible last 30mins for something that could have turned out to be an alright thriller.
