I'm graduating in May (scared) and I'm debating on whether to go test the job market or find a good MA program to do. History does interest me, and I've thought about teaching even though I'd have to get certified, but political sciences (my minor) is also a very interesting subject to me. Aside from teaching I really don't know what else you can do with a BA in history given the economic climate in America right now.
I've visited a lot of sites about what you can do with a degree in history, but I was curious if anyone had any actual experience with this in the current job market. Also, if I decide to get a masters in say, international affairs, what are some prospective jobs in that field? I never could figure out what I really wanted to do with my degree so I just took courses that interested me, and I'm hoping that doesn't come back to haunt me now that I'm about to graduate.
It seems like a 4-year degree just isn't enough these days, thoughts?
