I have been with my present employer for 2 yrs part-time, a community college. I started working there while I was completing B.A. @ other school. Since I have been there I have been applying to various jobs trying to get on full-time. I have seen lots, lots of illegal hiring practices (government-funded). I have seen them strategically word job requirements so that unqualified friends and family can get jobs they are not qualified for. For example, they hired an inexperienced friend with an associates degree over a person with a masters in educational counseling to be an advisor. Now there is a position opening because my boss (who graduated the semester before I did) is getting her second promotion which she really deserves. However, I over heard her discussing how she could word the position so that she could promote her friend, which she hired a few months ago. I have asked her before to train me on some of the aspects of her job but she will not. My evaluations are perfect
I have a good amount of experience prior to my employment, and they have offered me full time positions that would require extensive paycut and position I am overqualified for under someone I out qualify. I have never had any difficulty and get along excellently with everyone. What to do?
