Jessica Alba's 'The Eye' Trailer Online!

I'm a massive fan of asian films so I will probably go to the cinema to see this, mainly to see the difference between the Original and this remake,

Me mate though has other motives on his mind his such as his OTT crush on Alba (sigh), though here are a few things both good and bad after first impressions of the trailer:

Good:
Room Shifting scene looks pretty good, very similar to the original.

Alba looks pretty well suited for the role, though there was no talking so maybe this is too early to judge.

The use of the green tinge looks good, suits the whole atmosphere of the story.

Bad:
Dude in lift looks nowhere near as creepy as the original.

Guy at the end of trailer moving to the spyhole reminded me of the Pulse remake, which isn't a good thing.

Overall it looks promising, but I thought the very same thing when I saw the trailer for the Pulse remake, and that was awful in my view.

I usually hate remakes of Asian horror but I actually think I would want to see this. I think we can't judge based on this trailer, someone said the man in the lift wasn't as creepy as the original but we saw like 1 second if less of that and not even a clear shot. Obviously I doubt they'll be able to do some of the scenes quite as effectively as the original (old woman in corridor) but otherwise worth watching out for maybe.

One thing I will say though is I hope they keep the opening credits of the original relatively intact.

By the dude in the lift, I meant the actually floating of him with his feet of the ground, it might be the quality of the video but it looks a bit too CGI'ey (Made up word lol) for my liking.

Whilst the original from my memory looked spookier from what I can remember.

But I would be hoping that another trailer comes out soon with some actual dialogue, be intriguing to see how this pans out.

Update for all those interested, a new trailer is online at BD with actual dialogue.

After seeing this i'm still having mixed feelings, it's nice to see some of the set pieces from the original film being portrayed in this one, but I still dunno, I will be off to Cinema to see it though as I'm keen to compare it to the original, oh and my mate fancies the pants off Alba so he'll be dragging me to see it anyways.

Not ANOTHER American remake of a classic far-eastern horror! Why? The Pang Brother's film was fantastic - this remake looks poor. My advice to anyone thinking of going to see it - rent the Pang Brother's one first.
