Jesse L Martin, Marvin Gaye biopic

Does anyone have any info on this? I know it's been in pre-production for about three years now, is there any chance of it actually getting made?

I have been looking forward to this for a while, I really like Jesse from Law and Order. I think the fact that the film has been in pre-production for so long might be a bad sign . . . trouble with funding, possibly?! I also heard that there is another Marvin Gaye biopic coming out but I can't remember the details.
 
I had no idea there were any such plans...a massive Marvin fan who thinks he was the sexiest man alive back in the day. If I recall movies such as the Chess Record lable movie with Beyonce (can't remember name), The Dorothy Danderidge story and loaRAB of others were in planning stage pre-production for a long time before they got made.

Yeah, I heard that too - a bigger budget one, as well, which is what makes me worry for this one.



I hope it does get made, Jesse is amazing and I think he'd be really great for this part.
