circular track with a radius of 40.0m? Jerry rides his bicycle with a tangential speed of 13.2 m/s around a circular track with a radius of 40.0m. If the combined mass of Jerry and his bike is 86.5 kg, what force is required to keep Jerry in motion?

Velocity = wr
accel = w^2r
f=ma

velocity = 13.2= w(40)

w= 0.33 rad/sec

This is the force made by the cyclist. The force to keep him on the road must be equal and opposite.

accel= (0.33)^2*40= 4.36 m/s/s

f= 4,36 m/s/s*(86.5)kg=376.8 N
