Jerry Lewis films

After watching the full version of the 150th episode of Family Guy, which included Peter Griffin doing his version of a scene from "The Errand Boy" it got me thinking.

I can remember, when I was younger, Jerry Lewis films such as this, Visit To A Small Planet, the original Nutty Professor etc being on TV all the time.

I watched some bits from "The Bellboy" on Youtube last night and they are still very funny, and was surprised to read that he was still making comedies into the 1980's.

They're mostly inoffensive slapstick that's still funny, so why are they not shown more often?

There's a superb Jerry Lewis boxset available with lots of behind the scenes footage for many of them including the original Nutty Professor.

Visit to a Small Planet is out on dvd in Germany with an English soundtrack option

When a new Jerry Lewis film was on at the cinema I would be there for each and every one. One fact is that as a director he never ever went over his budget, and always made his films on time. I thought he was superb.
