Jerk characters who we like anyway

First, let me say that this is not a thread for discussing jerk characters that we don't like. Rather, this thread is for discussing characters who are jerks, but we like them anyway. There are some characters whom we like despite (or in some cases because of) the fact that they're jerky.

One example for me would be Eric the Cavalier from CBS' Dungeons & Dragons (brilliantly voiced by Don Most). Sure, this guy did little more than complain about being stuck in this new world and how back home he was a rich jerk and how being stuck in the D&D realm was a major inconvenience for him, but still, I (and other viewers) somehow managed to relate Eric in an odd way. Often times, he would say what I would imagine myself saying in such a situation. Eric even (occasionally) proved himself to be a formidable ally and on 1 occasion, even a fairly competent leader when Hank was sick and unable to do the job. Of course, after Hank recovered, Eric gladly relinquished his title so he could go back to being the jerk again. While Dungeons & Dragons was designed to make Eric look like a fool much of the time, the show just wouldn't have been the same without his comic kvetching.

Bloo from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" is probably the prime example for me. Of course, I seem to be in the minority there, as most people I know say they'd like the show better if it wasn't for him.
 
One jerk character that I've always liked was Montana Max from Tiny Toon Adventures. True, for much of the series (especially the first season), Monty was typecast as the villain and we the audience weren't supposed to like him, yet for some reason I did. Sure, he was an insufferable, obnoxious twerp with a hair trigger temper, but the guy had more money than the mint. How can not admire-or at least envy-a kid who's so rich that he collects baseball players instead of cards?

Another likable jerk was Dogbert from Dilbert. You can't score too much higher on the jerkometer than a meglomaniacal dog who has amassed a fortune and runs several businesses (yet still lives in his "master"'s home without paying rent) and considers everyone else on the planet to be here for his personal amusement. But for all of his jerkiness, I still thought Dogbert was the coolest character on Dilbert, second only to the garbageman, who was the smartest person on Earth.
 
Well, I actually like Lance Alvers/Avalanche from X-Men Evolution. He is jerk yes but he does have his share of character development and is such a huge improvement over the original comic book version.
 
My most favorite jerkoff characters that I mostly like along with the villains too:

George Wilson/Margaret(Dennis the Menace) - Both of those two were funny old school jerks who's a grouchy jerk neighbor and cute snobby brat who'll always hate on poor Dennis, but they do have a soft side as well.

Junior Wetworth(The Snorks) - He's my favorite for being the snotty rich jerk son of the Governor but he does have a soft side further on which I'm still shocked that the voice actor,Barry Gordon behind Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Razor from SWATKats does him:eek:.

Alexandra(Josie and the Pussycats) - She's one cute mean witch which her jealousies of Josie & crushes on Allen are so hilarious.

Garfield/Roy Rooster(Garfield & Friends/U.S.Acres) - They're my most favorite jerks which I love their cool crazy antics:D.

Ren Hoek(The Ren and Stimpy Show) - He's so hilarious for being a mean hot-tempered mutt jerk for bashing on Stimpy which cracks me up:Dbut does have a heart for his roommate.

Bart Simpson/Lisa Simpson/Marge Simpson/Nelson/Jimbo,Dolph,and Kearney/Sherri and Terri/Mo/Krusty the Clown/Chief Wiggum/Edna Krabapple/Principal Skinner/Superintendent Chalmers/C. Montgomery Burns/The Comicbook Guy/Baby Gerald/the Crazy Cat Lady/Krusty's bad ex-wife/Evil Marge(macho)/Gina/Donny/Simon's evil siblings/Maggie's bullies/Shauna/The popular girls,Britney,Caitlin/The Caitlins:Caitlin,Katalyn,Catalyn,2 Caitlins(The Simpsons) - My most favorite jerks which Donny is one cool new bad kid from season 19 voiced by Topher Grace which he's funny & has his cool good moments with Bart.

Molly/Bushwhacker Bob/Digeri Dingo/Bullgator and Axl/Francis/the Bushrats/the evil bully wrestler/Molly's evil friends(Taz-Mania) - All of them are the greatest hilarious jerkfaces ever,hahahahaha.

Edward(Ed) Bighead/Dingo/Peaches/The Dark Underlord/mean frog/Mr. Smitty/Grandpa Wolffe/Flecko the Fly/the Pizza Guy/Wallace/Black Mask Guy/Mortimmer Khan/the evil fashion designer chick(Rocko's Modern Life) - He's hilarious for being a mean jerk neighbor for Rocko, but his bashings were funny as well like the hilarious Teed Off episode:p,& the rest of the jerkoffs/villains were funny as well,hahahahaha.

Lt. Mitch Kellaway(The Mask Animated Series) - Funny jerk detective who pursues the Mask while getting his bashings on the way,hehehe:p.

The Brain/Snowball/Johnny Badnote/mouse bullies/Future Pinky & the Brain/the mummy/Zalgar/Big Mc.Garretty/Mr.Itch/Mousie Galore/Evil Earth/Precious(Pinky & The Brain) - He's the best awesome jerk ever which he may bash on Pinky, but does have a heart deep down while trying to take over the world while the rest of the villains were awesome as well.

Chicken(Cow & Chicken) - He's funny for being the mean jerk brother on Cow,loves to be greedy & wants to be put up for adoption from his crazy parents which Charlie Adler did an amazing job with his character on voice changing.

Eustace(Courage the Cowardly Dog) - He's hilarious for being a grouchy greedy jerk for always hating Courage & always being greedy most of the time & when he bees a giant kangeroo & a bad cowboy called The Whip as well.

Brandy/Tiffany(Brandy & Mr.Whiskers) - Snobby sexy mutt jerk who's both mean/nice & Tiffany is hot for being a mean snobby rich mutt jerk who's Brandy's opposite side but was a good friend to Brandy while it lasted.

Master Shake(Aqua Teen Hunger Force/Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1) - He may be a rotten,mean-spirited monster, but he's hilarious for being one like for bashing on Meatwad/Ezekial,getting Frylock's laser contact lenses:D & his many bashings are so hilarious.

Zorak(Cartoon Planet/Space Ghost:Coast to Coast/The Brak Show) - For an evil space pirate mantis villain who always escapes, I love how the writers made him so hilarious for being so mean & causing trouble in Brak's neighborhood.

Wayne Cramp/Wendy Winkle/Walter Winkle/Mr.Pretty(The Cramp Twins) - All of them are the greatest,worst funny jerkoffs in that awesome series with its weird character designs:D.

Martina/Naga(Slayers/NEXT) - Mean bratty sexy princess of Xoana who's so hilarious for being on a vengeance streak on Lina & fulling in love with the men of Slayers & Lina's sexy sorceress jerkoff rival with an annoying horrible laugh,hates blood,& is Amelia's long-lost sister.

Sakura(Hyper Police) - She's so hilarious who's a sexy crazy fox witch who fights crime & wants to steal Natsuki's powers but her plans always backfire,hahahaha:D.

Kaori/Kaori's tomboy bully/Kai/Yuki(Air Master) - All of them were great rotten,tough jerkoff rivals for Maki which Kaori the supermodel is the scary,vengeance-loving,& psychopathic jerkoff rival who'll always hunt down Maki to beat her of course.

Shu's Blue Dragon(Blue Dragon) - He's a mega jerkhole on Shu, but he's a powerful & awesome shadow with a cool bad attitude & will have a heart soon.
 
I agree with you on that one. Rabbit is my favorite character on “Skunk Fu!” and I believe that his personality flaws are what makes him such an appealing character. I’ve only seen a handful of episodes so far, but I have really enjoyed the way that the creators have handled his character. I also believe that his voice is awesome, but I digress.


Well, Brandy Harrington wasn’t a saint either. I’ve always thought that Tiffany was what Brandy would have become if she never met Mr. Whiskers. She may not have admitted it, but Mr. Whiskers did a lot to help her; he grounded her and allowed her to see more of the world than what she would have seen from her ivory tower, but even then, her spoiled upbringing resulted in some rather snobbish behavior throughout the course of the series. Still, I’ve always liked Brandy; she may have been quite a jerk throughout the series, but she tried to be a good person.
 
Eric Cartman (South Park)....Probably one of the biggest jerks in any work of fiction....He's bossy,mean,cruel,and a bit of a sadist....Yet at the same time,he's fairly stupid (even though he shows intelligence/cunning now and then),fat,and a wimp (he can dish it out,but he can't take it)...
I would never want to deal with anyone like that in real life,but somehow,I can still find him funny/likeable on the show...

Bender (Futurama)....Can be a major jerk to both friend and foe alike (and seems to be especially mean to Zoidberg),but shows moments of kindness/compassion now and again (though he's not always nice to him,it's easy to see Fry's his best friend)...

Homer Simpson....Has gotten to be more of a jerk as the series went on,but at the same time,it can be said his jerkiness is more out of ignorance than actual malice (unless it involves Flanders),and plus he really loves Marge and their kids...
 
Pizzazz (Jem and the Holograms): She was a stereotypical 80s cartoon villian who seemed to live for the sole purpose of annoying the main characters. And yet, you can't bring yourself to hate her because she's just so confident and fun.
And the Misfit's songs kicked butt! The Misfits were never forced to sing songs about stupid crap like reading books and eating your vegetables like the goody goody Holograms were. Their songs were ALWAYS fun!! :D

Eric Cartman (South Park): He's a selfish, whiney, evil little jerk. But he's just so much fun to watch. And he's really useful to have around during a hippie invasion.
I'd never want to meet someone like Cartman in real life; but I LOVE watching him on TV!

Eric (Dungeons and Dragons): I love him because he's the only cast member who behaves realistically! Seriously, who here wouldn't constantly complain if some mysterious old dude transported them into a medieval world full of monsters that want to murder them? :p
The character was also likable because, when push came to shove, he was actually a very kind and capable leader (even if he had to be forced into it...).
 
Yeah, Eric rocks. I'd also nominate Kevin from Ben 10 Alien Force. He's pretty snotty sometimes, but he's true blue when it counts.
 
I'm seconded with kevin, only from the original ben 10 though. He was a brat who was as mature as a 5 year old logically but still a pretty awesome bad guy!

also bender from futurama is another jerk we've all grown to love. For his "in your face' attitude. (stated by leela)
 
I'm just going to chime in here and agree with the choices of Eric Cartman (South Park) and Bender (Futurama). Both of these guys are such major and remorseless egomaniacal jerks that you just have to laugh, or at least admire their nerve. At least Cartman or Bender are never dull.

Another one of my favorite creeps is the Willaims Street version of Zorak. He was, as Brak once described him "a remorseless sinner", but Zorak, along with Thundercles, was the only funny thing about The Brak Show.
 
I agree with Bloo. I would also have to say Heather from Total Drama Island. She is a jerk to everyone, but she makes the show more interesting.
 
Zorak from SGC2C. He could be quite cruel at times, but I love him anyway. Also, the Red Guy from Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel. He ranged from being harmless to downright cruel, but he was always funny. My favorite quite of his: "BIG ACCIDENTS happen to little women who don't PAY THEIR INTEREST!".
 
I'm jsut going to say Paul from Pokemon D/P. He is probably the best character and rival ever to be introduced to the series. Yeah, he's a jerk, but he is very improtant to the series. Plus I think he's a BAMF! :evil:
 
Kevin 11 (Ben 10: Alien Force) - Yeah, I still can't really consider him the same character as the evil and sadistic Kevin of Ben 10, but he is very cool all the same, not to mention funny.

Sissy Delmas (Code Lyoko) - One of the very few snotty schoolgirl characters with a heart, Sissy just got more and more likeable as the show went on, with even her b****y behavior becoming more funny than serious.

Roger Klotz (Doug) - Somwhat of a male equaivelent to Sissy, Roger Klotz is a bully who isn't bad at heart and constantly proves his worth when the occasion calls for it.

Squidward (Spongebob Squarepants) - Grumpy, pessimistic, and cynical, yet with a softer side, including an actual liking for Spongebob, deep down. How can you not like him? :p

Chazz Princeton (Yu-gi-oh! GX) - This show was IMO mediocre, but he was one of the best characters, always trying to be the classic bad boy, but usually failing hilariously.

Bender (Futurama) - "Bite my shinal metal ass!" Need I say more?

I'm not even an fan of the show but in the short instances I've seen Alien Force on Toonami, his quirks amused me. Particularly a scene where a conflict is resolved between the three main characters and two alien hunters. After the hunters apologize, they leave their base through some kind of portal and once there gone, Kevin casually remarks about stealing all their stuff. I admit I lol'd
 
Seto Kaiber -Their was something about him, that just made you like him.Maybe it's the white trenchcoat?

Gary Oak -I like Gary and Ash better then Ash and Paul.
