I just replaced the battery on my 93 Wrangler (old one was dead). I bought a new battery with guidance from the computer at the auto parts store, but when I got home and made the switch I noticed the new battery is physically smaller than the old one.

I've now noticed that the windshield wipers are moving very slowly. It also takes an extra second for the engine to start. I'm thinking that perhaps I installed a battery without the same power as the previous battery. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

yeah the batery should be the same (not the same brand but u know waht i mean) also maybe check your altenator, you might need a new one if the engine is not turning over right away. You can have it checked for free at a Kragen if there is any where you live?!?

physical size has nothing to do will amperage and crank output. i think maybe you have let the size difference factor into what other parts seem to be doing, the alternator Supplies the power to the wipers so the battery has nothing to do with the speed they work at.

i live in winnipeg when i purchased a replacement battery for my car i look for the one with high cold cranking amps because it s cold
