I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler and my passenger door will not unlock, when I try to flip the locking switch to the unlock position, it does not make the usual thump (which occurs when the door is unlocked) I also can't open the door with a key from the outside. This really sucks and I would appreciate some assistance!
I recently had to replace the entire passenger window (yesterday actually) but the passenger door locking system was fine (atleast before I got the new window put in) after they put the new window in they tinted that window also, so I know they had to get into the door and do some rummaging. When I came to pick up my car I immediately noticed the lock being on the fritz, but the weird thing is-is that at first I could unlock the door by holding the switch in the unlock position or (if trying to open from the outside) I had to hold the key left and simultaneously pull the handle. But today it won't unlock at all! The obvious solution would be to take it to the Jeep dealership-but I would really like to avoid doing that.
