I have an early build 97 jeep wrangler. when it rains water runs down through the hood seam and down a few parts of the firewall. the water is leaking around the foam square gasket that is around the opening ware the a/c lines, heater lines and vacuum line goes through into the dash. i replaced the weather strip on the hood and that didn't fix the problem. it only takes a little bit of water. and it only hapens when it rains hard. i tried a few things but none have worked so far. yesterday i did something that i think may stop the leak but it really looks like crap. i removed the brittle rotted foam gasket just ripped it out with some pliers and i used a can of that expanding spray foam insulation styrofoam stuff. i think it will stop the leak but it really looks a mess. do you have any better ideas on how to stop this leak? maybe something that wont look so bad?
