I have a 04 grand cherokee 4.0 l6 special edition 96,000 miles has been the best jeep ever owned!! Took it to florida and back 1,200 miles one way got 12 miles from the house and it started acting weird I canceled the cruise by hitting the brake and thats when it started every time I let off the gas the rpms when up like 3k then when I hit the gas it would go back down to 1,500k got the code p1763 anyway I drove it home I figured out that its no going any lower than 3rd gear if you put it in 2nd it will go but if you put it into 1st it will just stay in 2nd. Anyway I know my way around a vehicle so if I change out the part in the tranny do you think this will cure my problem? I've been driving it like it is and making sure that if I come to a stop to put it in 2nd but I know I need to get this fixed right away. Oh i've also tried to reset the code with my scanner but it just comes back on after a min.
