Jeep tj stabilizer bar?

Had some work done on my jeeps brakes and the mechanic noticed that the front right stabilizer bar is broken, kind of like there's a cup and a ball, and the ball is out if the cup. he said it's not a really big problem and would be easy to replace. I want to do this myself seeing as it appears to not be difficult, but things are not always as they seem. Anyone ever done this? Any tips?

You can do it fairly easily. Often times (especially if you lift your jeep without changing your anti sway bar discounts) the poly bushings will pop off if your bolts work loose, this doesn't necessarily mean they are broken and you can re-attach them. If you can't reattach them, purchase stock replacement parts or quick disconnects from any aftermarket supplier (Anti rock, skyjacker, anyone) and instillation is very easy. Use some locktite if you are worried about the bolts working loose again. Oh, just don't buy quicksilver disconnects.

Don't worry about body roll unless you drive your jeep like a Porsche or have it lifted 12", I have been running my jeeps without sway bars for years. You will be fine driving with both links disconnected and in your situation, one link will still provide a good amount of anti roll.

The sway bar end link can be easily replaced with basic hand tools. But whoever told you it wasn't a big deal is confused During street and highway driving the sway bar is what controls body roll. Withou it properly attatched the jeep becomes very tippy during cornering. it could even cause a rollover.
Go buy a sway bar link and put it on. You should be able to handle it no problem
Good Luck!
