1993 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 belongs to son-in-law.
Situation: driving home from work engine gets hot (hasn't overheated) and shuts off. Doesn't restart until 30-45 minutes of cool down. This has happened 3X.
T-stat & water pump have been replaced, the only thing missing is one of the cooling fans, he removed, the fan broke off and needs to replace it. Has yet to do that. What info can I add to this to help solve this thing?
Engine runs strong. A few oil leaks. No cool leaks. Told him to replace fan first and get back to me, but thought I would throw the question out to all you MOPAR techs.
The missing fan is on the drivers side of the vehicle. Water pump has been replaced. I am not driving it, just helping out son-in-law with issue. You can't jump straight to ecm right away...will try to duplicate this weekend and see where temp sensor is and check fuel psi.
