Hi i own a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, 4 door, 4WD. It has the 4.0 liter inline six cillinder motor. Now there is a hose that leads from the front of the valve cover to the air box, the hose might be 18 inches long, now it needs to be replaced, can you please tell me what the name of that hose is. The hose has a plastic base that attaches it to the valve cover.

It the PCV recirculating hose. One end attaches to the PCV valve in the valve cover and takes fumes from there to the air box to be introduced into the air/fuel stream to be burnt.

That dude is wrong^^^^

You're talking about the crankcase breather tube. The PCV hose goes to the manifold, not the airbox.
