ok i fail at auto i have quite abit of small engine experience and have resources to help me in repair, (AMC 327 V8 "Vigilante" (65-66) jeep pickup gladiator) is this a good truck? laymen terms please lol (= if you have any info highly appreciated ANY info please share. i think it has like 250 horse power idk for sure please help trying to find info. i am researching it and not finding a whole lot please help

it kinda beet up about it will crank over but doesnt run how much should it cost?
btw list price is 1000 or best offer and its my dads friend so i am guessing a bit lower havnt seen it yet but i wanna get as much info on it as possible,,,,its would be my first car fyi,oh and in case anybody was wondering its a 3 speed like i said its my dads friend so the price should come down a decent amount i think my dad said that he was thinking like 500$ not sure though have a year and a quater before i get my permit so i have plenty of time to fix up but i dont want to wast my money is all and i wanna know what prices this should be dont mind working on it btw i just dont want to get ripped off you know and my father and grandad know a pretty decent amout about engines and what to look for and all i just wanna get some pointers if possible ok thanks
