Hello,
I drive an '07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lmtd. with a Hemi engine.. I understand that when I'm driving at a fairly low speed only 4 cylinders are in use- as to not use as much power, therefore saving gas, etc. The Jeep is an automatic, but my question is, should I drive in a lower gear when I'm not traveling at high speeds? or should I leave it in the normal drive gear?

There is the 'Drive 5'; 'Drive 4'; 'Drive 3'; Etc. I am unfortunately unfamiliar with my own vehicle. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in addvance!

Driving in a lower gear will decrease gas mileage because you will turn more rpms. Not only that but the automatic shift from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders won't happen if the vehicle can't go into overdirve, and the only gear that will allow overdrive is Drive5.
