Jeep grand cherokee a good car?

I'm in the market for a new (to me) car. I currently have a '96 chevy Corsica, and am looking for a '00-'02 Grand Cherokee just because I've always loved them. But I didn't know exactly how good of a car they are. I checked mpg and a few other things and I think I'm ready to buy, but is there anything else I should know before purchase?
