Stay away from the four wheel drive models, nobody every bought one to be nice to it. The lower mileage the better, even if you have to get one that doesn't have as many whistles and bells. Check the tires carefully, if you are going to need to replace them you should negotiate for a lower price. Keeping up with one is no different than any other car or truck, you keep it clean, service it regularly and drive it gently and it should give you years of life.

Okay so a Jeep Grand Cheroke is my dream car. I am 18 years old and am wanting this as my first car - I will be getting one probably at the end of summer. I want to know all about the mechanics. My uncle is a mechanic and he said one thing is that if I get a used one do not get one that has more than 150 thousand miles - because about this time they will need a new engion. I would like to know from any of you, about what kind I should look for, what year I should get, and what kinds of things should I expect when it comes to keeping up them. I already know how much parts cost and about gas so please don't write anything like that.
