I want to change my 4 cylinder jeep engine out. IT is a 2000 jeep wrangler. The reason for changin would be because it is not that powerful because i am running 33's. I would like to change it out to maybe a mercedes benz 4 cylinder diesel engine?? Do yall think i would need to change out the transmissions or anything or driveshafts in order to run this set up?

You will probably have to change everything, and I mean everything, fuel pump, computer, all the sensors, exhaust, transfer case, driveshafts, motor mounts, possibly a custom oil pan to clear the cross members and steering linkage, and a pile of other things.

You would be better putting lower gears in the diffs to compensate for the lack of power or make a few upgrades to your existing engine to get a little more power out of it.

I don't know about the newer jeeps but in the older jeeps a common swap that was fairly easy was to put a small block chevy into it.

u would have to change out everything the wiring harness, exhaust maniafolds, motor mounts, transmission, driveshafts, t case, that would be alot of money and time. your best bet would to just get a jeep/dodge diesel engine and swap it with that
