i have a 96 jeep grand cherokee limited. about 2 weeks ago the display screen below my console started to announce that my hood was open whenever i drove over 60. i figured it was just the air sneaking in and triggering the sensor because of the climate change but it kept doing it until someone suggested to slam the hood hard to make sure it locks properly. well i did that and now it announces it as soon as i turn the car on and shift it to drive. now it constantly beeps and beeps that its open when its properly shut. i checked the springs and their fine, its locking fine and the lever doesn't seem to have any problems. any suggestions?
also, last saturday night my alarm started going off at about 3am. at first i thought someone tried to break into it or maybe a raccoon jumped on it or something until tuesday morning when it randomly went off twice for absolutely no reason and again this afternoon outside a store. ive been forced to disconnect the battery before work just so i don't stress about it going off through out the day. any suggestions on what that could be an how to fix it?
