i have a 98 cherokee 4.0 in-line 6, automatic transmission, with 155,000 miles. At times it runs like a top, very smooth i can even run the ac wide open and its perfect. But that feeling doesnt last for long. It seems to almost sputter as im hitting the gas. Also it has been spitting coolant out at the upper radiator hose where the hose meets the motor. Its not a leak it only does it occasionally. Im not sure if these problems are related but i would like to know what is causing this. I was thinking it may need a tune and it may need to have the fuel system checked out, but im not sure. Also i know the nuetral safety switch is almost shot but im not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any type of help would be appreciated.
