today i bought a 2000 jeep cherokee. I am wondering what the biggest tires i can put on stock rims. i dont really want to get a lift or any big modifications because i dont really know much about cars. If you have any other suggestions i could do to mess with it a little bit that arent too complicated, or easy to learn that would be really cool. thanks

31" tires will fit with very little trimming but may rub at full steer or flex. 30" tires are ideal and won't rub.

Alternatively, since you don't mind working a little, you could get a 1 to 2 inch "budget boost" to add to your suspension. That will definitely fit the 31" tires without having to trim. If you know anything at all about tools you should be able to pull it off by yourself.

I'm getting bigger tires on my 1990 soon too!

Good luck!

31x10.5's should clear on stock rims, providing that your springs aren't sagged. They might rub on the bumper caps, but i just trimmed them with a hack saw when i put on mine. The mod is not noticeable since i just took a little tab off the bottom.
