Had a radiator leak, mechanic replaced it couple of weeks ago. I noticed that coolant level dropped from max. to min. in a week. After turning engine off (warm) I hear coolant running (like open faucet). What could it be. No leaks noticed and engine is not smoking.
thank you for answers

there is air trapped inside your cooling system. if you fill your recovery bottle to max (when cold) this should fix itself. it may take up to three tries.

it may be that there is air in your rad and that is steam boiling off. that is why your coolant levels are going down. when your car is cooled open the cap and start your car. if you see air bubbles that mean you have air in your system. coolant runs in pressure all the time air is easier to compress then liquid and it will boil off your coolant because pressurized liquid had a high boiling point. get the air out and it should help with your sounds your hearing.

The cooling system probably had some trapped air after the new radiator got installed, so if it doesn't go down anymore your probably ok. I hope you changed the big upper and lower radiator hoses at the same time. Raise the hood and listen for the sounds and see if they're different than you hear inside the car.
