Jeep Cherokee 1999 ( panel failure or CPM failure?

I have a Jeep Cherokee 1999 6Cyl 2WD Regular, and I am having a very weird thing happening on the jeep. The speeddometer drop to the botton, and tha ABS light turn on, and comes back after a while. This keep going on and off, but the engines performance it is not affected, the car keep runing well at all times.
 
Some thing like this is hard to say, does the ABS light come and go at the same time with the speedometer? If so the it may be a bad ground instrument cluster or a bad speed sensor if they don`t quit and come back together. Electrical problems are too hard to say on-line what it could be unless it is a common problem which yours is not. You can try to pull the cluster and clean the contacts where the plug ins are with a pencil eraser, (a very fine abrasive) Other then that you will have to bring it in, Good Luck.
