I replaced my water pump today and now the belt idler pulley squeaks.. Lubricating it with silicone spray from the back stops the squeaking immediately but for only for a few minutes. The belt tension is greater than I had before when it wasn't squeaking ..
Is the idler bad or do I have too much belt tension. How do you determine proper belt tension? in other words does a good idler squeak with too much tension?
