Jeep Cherokee 1991 Front End Problem?

I think I have this figured out but would like some feedback.

Problem: When I am traveling on highway and hit a series of bumps the front in goes into a serious oscillation. It feels like the its all going to fall apart and the only way to stop from vibration is to pull over and stop then its fine when i start again.

I jacked up both wheels and checked for play and all seems ok.Checked ujoints for play.

What I think the problem is... there is a shock absorber parrallel to the ground that is part of the front end. I guess this is an anti sway device or something. This is wore out and offers no resistance and when I push on the tires, the steering wheel turns freely.

Is this the problem?

It is called a steering stabilizer and replacing it will help a lot.
Also, have your wheel balanced with weights on BOTH sides of the rim.
I always called the vibration "Death Wobbles"
