I have two jeeps at my carlot doing the same thing. I charged the freon, the a/c clutch comes on and shuts right back off. the gauge goes way down to below 20 and the low pressure switch cuts off the clutch. I have a low side gauge only, the fitting on my high side gauge is leaky.
1. both pressure switches work.
2. it is the low pressure switch that is cutting it off, if I jump the switch it will run but low side pressure is only 10.
3. its a new compressor in one jeep.
4. I don't think its over or under charged, I tried both ways.
5. the line going from the condenser to the evaporator gets cold to the touch after it keeps trying to turn on for a while. but it blows warm. because the a/c wont run for more than 2 seconds at a time.
thanks to anyone who can help.
