...ever married? I am just wondering where she got such inspiration for her writing. Obviously, I'm sure she must've had some sort of love life... -sigh- Or maybe she is such a nice writer that we are just led to believe so.
Thank you Laya for your input. The reason I ask this is lately my fascination with the plot of Pride and Prejudice, as it is a play my theater class is about to be engaged in. Of course, I seek to understand it in hopes of making it into the cast (hopefully Elizabeth.) And lately, I just broke up with my boyfriend. (lol) It was highly, highly dramatic. I admire Jane Austen's writing in P&P, and wonder what sort of inspiration was the cause for such writing. I've read only a bit of biography about this author, and as an aspiring writer I find her life situation... interesting.
One more question! Did Jane Austen hold any sort of religious belief?

Jane did actually have a little romance in her life. Unfortunately, she didn't marry him.

There's more information about that under 'Early Novels'.

There was a film made about Jane's early life, though. It's a pretty good movie. You should watch it; it's called Becoming Jane.

What I've been told from English class is that she received an offer of marriage which she accepted but then the next morning she decided against marrying the man. But she died young as well which could mean that she was not able to have another suitor.
