Jail breaking ipod question?

I just got my ipod around 1 and a half weeks ago and im curious to jailbreak it and see what its like its still under warranty of 90 days as i have a 32 gb 3rd gen itouch but im afraid it anything does happen can i make it so that apple wont notice i jailbroke it?
 
I jailbroke my Iphone 3GS and it was awesome but when I updated to 3.1 I lost everything so its cool for awhile but eventually it will get deleted. Also, I lost all of my music because it froze up on me (bricked).
 
When you jailbreak, you only change software, the hardware won't change.

So if you do a "restore" on it through Itunes, it goes back to being like "fresh out of the package"

You have to really work hard to brick an Ipod touch to the point of destruction.

I dont think its worth it to get an NES emulator though.
