******J&M Amp Install Just Completed on Al's 2009 Street Glide...Pics Here******

I checked my output on my gains and it was @ 6v. So i followed sam2010's advice and adjusted them as he said to. Wow! What a difference. The gain knobs are really touchy, I ended up @ 15.4v when it was all said and done. There is some good advice on this board.

Also all of my adjustments controls are on the right side of the amp instead of the top like the pic's that have been posted.

dr v-twin hi this is the first time i have posted on this forum im interested in your system for a ultra, i have a 2010 limited, i would like the 7.5 speakers an the ones for the rear, plus amp, an possible chrome inserts for front speakers. when i goto your website to find a j&m package for the ultra it doesn't seem very user friendly when trying to find these items i was about to give, but i thought i would give this an attempt first.

Bobcat, post you email so I can get in touch with you. The best way to order is to call the shop. The amp is not on the site yet. (818)501-TWIN and we are open 10am -5 pm M-F PST.

Has anybody made any changes to the J&M 250W Amp at the settings level while coupled with the J&M 7.25" speakers in the HD Batwing fairing? Just wondering, and if you have, would you share your settings values? I am just making sure that, even though I love my Amp/speaker combo, that I am getting all I can out of it performance wise.

many thanks,

dr v-twin thanks for the reply, i registered at your site so you now have my email address, i'll be giving you a call tomorrow thanks again.

J&M has already configured the amp for maximum performance which is why the setting buttons are covered and hidden. I trust J&M and their abilities to configure this product for maximum performance. After hearing the speakers and amps I have heard I have found no need to touch the settings. Our very own Al is a professional audio tech as well and has found no need either.

Perfect! Just give us a call and myself or Al will give you all the info you will need on the entire J&M setup. Al and I have been heavily involved in upgrading audio for years now and we will do what we can to ensure that you make the best informed buying decision.

Al and I have the J&M 7.25" speakers and J&M 250w amp on our own 2009 Street Glides and we absolutely love the combo! For the price, you can't come close to anything else out there. You won't ever have a need for more sound out of the J&M speakers.

Can someone tell me if there is a significant difference between the ARC amp and the J&M one. They are both pretty much the same amp correct?

Reason for asking is because I have the ARC one installed with an Alpine HU and have always thought it sounded a bit low. I have to turn my volume to almost 3/4 to get good volume for riding. Maybe it's just the speakers which are Alpine 5.25 and tweeters.

Also, I'm a bit concerned with the bigger speaker weight. Should I worry about the weight being attached to a bracket, then to the fairing? I just don't want anything to go wrong with the way these speakers mount.

Well I guarantee the Arc and the J&M are not the same amp. The J&M is built for J&M and the circuit boards inside are clearly labeled as such. Whether the electronics are the same or similar would require further analysis. If you feel the Arc is underpowered I doubt you will find the J&M to be a solution.

I had the same concern about speaker weight but I have had no problem. I know of at least 2 shops that are instaling Focal 6.5" speakers and they're quite heavy too.
