******J&M Amp Install Just Completed on Al's 2009 Street Glide...Pics Here******

Since I insatalled my J&M speakers and Arc amp I've lost some FM reception with my hidden fairing antenna.
Have you guy's had any problems with radio reception once speakers and amp were installed?
Could it be the foam padding or amp interferance?? I made sure I didn't cover the antenna with the foam.
Any suggestions would be appreciated..

The instructions say not to and I tried it and it did not work
I would hook it up to the strap coming down from the bottom of the fuel tank the wire will reach and I know that works.

No issues here at all when running the J&M powered hidden antenna with J&M amp. Please check all connections as you may have a loose antenna connection behind the headunit.

According to John at J&M, he isn't recommending to ground it to the negative terminal of the battery. You can always do what jkru did and ground it to the tank strap. That may be a better way to do it.

If you ground it to the frame where J&M states to mount it and the amp works fine, that would be best. If you have any sound issues, you can always re-locate it.

With any amp install it is best to keep the ground wire as short as possible and the same gauge as the power wire. It helps keep noise interference away.

I dropped off my 2009 Street Glide at Dr. V-Twin's shop this morning to have my amp installed. Midway through the day, I got a call that my bike was taking a bit longer than expected because the Harley Stealership that installed my XM Radio Kit did a botched job of running the wires correctly, and Dr. V-Twin needed to re-do it so that the amp install would go properly. At any rate, I just got the message that my bike is done, and that "it turned out awesome." I can't wait to pick up my bike and hear my new amp-enhanced system. I'll report back tomorrow.
