******J&M Amp Install Just Completed on Al's 2009 Street Glide...Pics Here******

I just got done installing the same amp that would not work on the 09 streetglide on my 2010 streetglide. The GOOD NEWS is it worked like a charm, the BAD NEWS is I think Shawn and John are right in that there must be something with that specific batch of 09 streetglide wiring harness. This 09 was manufactured in 03/09. I also noticed that the install as far as the amp unit and bracket, were way easier in the 2010. There was a lot more room above the radio, and the wires were tucked up higher.
The sound is phenomenal and I really would endorse this product and DR VTWIN by the way. Even though I ran into some trouble, they were very supportive as is this forum so thanks to all. I also used a small angled ratcheting box wrench with Allen bit and those 4 screws on the side of the radio were no problem this time, big difference.
So now John and Shawn please help us figure out how to get my buddy's amp working with that crazy 09 harley wiring harness.

Until J&M finds out why certain 2009 Street Glides are affected by this, you are more than welcome to send the extra amp you have back to us for a full refund. Whatever you decide to do, just let us know and we will get you taken care of. Once J&M figures out the issue and has a fix for it, you can always re-order the amp from us.

Again, please accept our sincere apologies for all the frustration and time you and your buddy wasted on this. Stuff like this happens from time to time and the only thing we can do is deal with it head-on and hope for the best.

Thanks, We actually are now pro's on installing the amp and speakers, I did my bike in only 40 minutes, and I would go thru this again. The sound I think is as good as you can get on a bike and now my buddy is going even more crazy wanting his amp lol. Again if anybody is thinking of getting new speakers or speakers and an amp I would definitly recomend J&M and DR VTWIN and Shawn.

Thank you for the kind words and compliments. I know how your buddy feels. Al had the J&M amp on his Street Glide a full week before I did, so I was VERY jealous because the sound is simply amazing! Al is addicted to the sound output and he has his stereo on his Street Glide blasting all the time. I am sure J&M will get it figured out. John at J&M is dedicated to finding the issue and then your buddy can enjoy the amp.

+1 on that foam backing! I installed the speakers a couple weeks ago and we spent a good 1/4 of the time just trying to figure out how in BLAZES to get that paper backing off!

Other than the paper backing, installing the speakers was an interesting experience . . . (first time taking the bat-wing apart by myself . . .)
 
Try taking a new razor blade and lightly score an x in the middle of eachpiece of the paper backing
You should be able to peel it right of.
The key is lightly you don't want to go into the foam
 
Hey everyone, get your orders in for the next batch of amps due in some time this week. Also, the Road Glide amp is due out on Thursday of this week. Get your orders in for that as well.

Let's hope J&M gets more amps in, so they can put together amp kits and get them to us ASAP! We have a lot of forum members waiting for their amps! First come, first serve!
