Got my J&M amp today and instaled it this afternoon. I already have the J&M 7.25 speakers. I was already impresed with the speakers and with the amp its seems like it will go twice as loud with no distortion.
I already could hardly hear my D&D Fatcat with the 7.25s with no amp I cant imagine what its going to be like riding at 3/4 volume.
After I got the power wire to the batery ( wich was the hardest part ) it took like 5 minutes to plug all the other wires in. It is realy "plug n play".
I got my amp directly from J&M, no discount, dont want one.
I waited 3 months for this amp to be released. I could have goten another brand of amp butt I wanted product to match product, wich is what I have and it works GREAT.

I finsihed my install Friday night but had to get back into it to adjust amp controls; 1st attempt wasn't so great.

I have the Arc KS 125.2 mini with 6 1/2" Alpine speakers. My final set-up on the amp was 1/4 turn + from lowest setting on both gain controls, appox. 90 on the cross-over and about 75% + (sorry, I do not remember the setting number) on bass setting.
This provided really clear music at all speeds and noticeable bass improvements over just the stock head unit with the Alpines. I can use the stereo controls and definitely notice imput changes with bass and treble adjustments.

It only took me about 2 1/2 hours to remove the tank and fairing cover, strip all the harness covers to locate the existing speaker wires, splice in and mount the amp (with velkro), run new speaker wires to the Alpines, reinstall all the factory wire coverings and buttom everything back up.
I spent another hour the next morning readjusting the amp to my liking though.

I'm not knocking J&M in any way especially since they sponser this site. I just support my local stereo shop since he and I are long time friends.
J&M has taken the guess work out which appeals to alot of riders but I have always been a do-it-your-self type of person.
My total cost of all materials was just under $400 for amp, 6 1/2" Aplines and Dragonflyconcept adapters.

Great write up.. I installed the J&M 7.25's and the Elf 2125, witch is basically the same as the Arc & J&M amp, over the weekend. I'm looking for tips on tuning the amp so thanks for the info. Not impressed with the J&M speakers as of yet. I stiil have to make adjustments on the amp. I can't understand how people say these J&M'S are so GREAT... Give me a break.. I'm actually thinking of selling them for cheap, hard to believe I paid $220 for them and they sound like crap. Hopefully when I get the amp dialed in they will sound better. And yes, I listened to them before I installed the amp and like I said, not impressed at all. Do you have your speakers wired for 2ohm or 4ohm?
Thanks

According to my stereo guy, the crossover adjustment should not work since I have mine switched to full mode??? He wants to help me fine tune it this weekend so I'll report back if he makes improvements. I think it sounds great as is though.

My speakers are 4 ohm

John, will you be selling these brackets seperately? I am too lazy to make my own but would like to order 2 of them.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that.. I wish you could hear the bike in our showroom..
same setup you have but with the JM 2125.. I think it's amazing!

Rode my bike tonight. Just siting in the garage it sounds amazing. Riding the bike at 3/4 volume and the Ipod turned 7/8 up I can not hear anything except the music with no destortion. If anything Id say that this setup is to loud, its crazy.
If I left it past 1/2 way and went into town Id probly get pulled over for having my stereo turned up tp loud.
