J&M 7.25 Speaker Review

The Hogtunes amp only peaks at 32 watts. The J&M amp is rated at 250 watts. I have heard the J&M 7.25" speakers with the Hogtunes amp and the J&M amp and there is no comparison! It's like night and day!

Once you have a J&M amp to power up the 7.25" speakers, you will really see the full range of sound the J&M speakers have the potential of putting out.

Let us know if you would like an amp. Like I told jasnusc, we have a few more amps in stock. Last week we had over 20 or so in stock. Right now, I think we are down to around 8, so they are selling fast!

I purchased the new JM speakers several months ago. Got them installed but never had a chance to test them on a ride. I finally took a trip this month and was really disappointed. The volume was not that loud and I could not hear the speakers on hwy at 70 MPH. I called Shawn and explained the problem and my disappointment. Shawn told me to turn off the intercom and the AVC and try it again.
So I took another trip. I turned off the intercom and wow...... the speakers came to life. There is a huge difference in the speaker volume when the intercom in on versus when it is off. The AVC didn't change the volume much. But turning the intercom off made a huge difference. I could hear wonderful sound at 70 MPH with the volume just a tad over half way.
I went ahead and purchased the amp. I like to keep the intercom on when riding with my wife so we can communicate. Hope to get the amp installed this week.
But if anyone has problem with the volume of their speakers not being loud enough........check to see if your intercom is on. If so, turn it off. When the intercom is on, it lowers the speaker volume by design so the rider and passenger can communicate.

Went to DR. VTWIN today for my 1k service and to have the J&M 7.25 & Amp installed on my 2010 Road Glide...wow what a difference, the AMP has a new logo, the brackets were fantastic for the RG and installed the trim rings too!!! You can set the trim rings to any of 5-6 colors. Also used the AMSOIL and noticed the engine ran smoother and cooler than before...at Idle for a few minutes it is much cooler. If you live in the LA COUNTY area, Shawn, Al and his install team and mechanics are great...only took 3 hours for everything and they tollerated me waiting at the showroom quite well.

I think Shawn will post a photo or two of the inner fairing, I will try to post a photo of the trim rings.

By the way, sound was clear at 80mph with about 25mph wind gusts heading up the I14 Freeway out of LA...full volume with no distortion, the rings look much better than the photos.
 
I'll bet the light rings look even better in the dark. The speakers sound so good with the amp that it cannot be described with words. This setup has prompted me to start thinking about a bagger. OMG! Dr. V-Twin, Shawn and Al are top notch in my book as well. That is why I work my butt off for them.

Just installed the J&M amp and 7 1/4 speakers and at 90 mph on I-95 here in Florida it sounds great and loud ( Clean )

If you cant install this with help from the HD forum you shouldn't be ridden a Harley or operating a ridden lawn mower.
Shawn was a big help at Dr. V twin and the price was very good.

Let me start by saying I am no audiophile. But I did believe that the bigger the magnet the better the speaker. So when I opened the J&M box and looked at the speakers that appear to have no magnets at all, I thought I've been had again.

I am now a believer. Installed the speakers coupled with my already installed hog tunes amp and tweeter pod and hallelujah, these speakers are great. Even at full volume, clean as can be, no distortion. I am a happy camper......
