J&M 7.25 Speaker Review

I installed the J&M speakers with built in amp and couldn't be happier. Remember the amp is built in. All I had to do was plug in my Apple ipod nano, and I've got radio and 4 gigs of music. Nothing else necessary. Totally awesome sound and easy to work.

Very happy with my decision.
 
After all my bitching and complaining about no bass, i have to apologize to JMjohn! I'm a big boy if i can complain i can also apologize.To start with i installed speakers , took longer than it should have, but i could live with that.Played quite a few cd's and to be honest i was not happy with the sound. Fast forward to today , stopped by Radio Shack and picked up a cord for my ipod. What a HUGE difference!!!!! Yes these speakers ROCK!!! Is the factory head unit a P.O.S.? I am amazed at the difference in sound with the ipod. If the Amp adds this much of an improvement i'll be getting an amp! Speakers now sound the way i thought they would, i dont think it's a speaker issue i'm having, its the factory head unit! Anybody have input on why it sounds so much better? Now i have to find an ipod mount!
 
Check out the Pro Armor Provault IPOD protector/holder. It's a slick little package for your music and I can hook you up. It's funny how a simple cord and an IPOD can make a world of difference.
 
I just ordered my speakers from DR-VTWIN today, and the service was very good over the phone I might add. It is probably poor purchasing strategy to do this, but AFTER I bought them I started thinking about different things. First off, the kit that comes with the fairing insulation also comes with the new support brackets correct? Also, do these speakers have an internal crossover setup? I'm curious how the tonal seperation is achieved. Thanks!
 
The kit comes with all you need to install them including the insulation. They do not have an internal crossover, the capacitor will separate sound and when there is too much sound it will go to the big speakers. Drew
 
The amp is already preset for the stock radio and the 7.25 "speakers so adjustment is really necessary. The capacitors on the speaker grills send the bass to the woofers already as well. Let me know if this helps. Drew
