also ,,, the new J&M 7.25" speaker kit for the 1998-2005 RoadGlides ((8-ohms impedance) are now available ,,,, part#'s HRGS-7258GTM-C or -B ,,,,,,

here below is an important note from the instructions included with that particular kit ,,,, and is thus the reason it took us so long to release these ,,,, THIS NOTE ONLY APPLIES TO 1998-2005 ROADGLIDES ,,,,

"""""""""""""" IMPORTANT NOTE : Some 1998 thru 2005 model Road-Glides require the replacement of the factory grill assembly/speaker adapter in order for the J&M 7.25 speaker kit to be installed. It will be necessary to remove the outer fairing and inspect the factory installed grill/adapter assemblies to determine if they need to be replaced. The early style assemblies can be identified by the method of attachment to the inner fairing. If the screws attaching the speaker go completely through the grill/adapter and into the inner fairing mounting bosses you have the early style assemblies and they will need to be replaced with the later style factory grill/adapter assemblies and mounting hardware listed below. The later style grill/adapter utilizes independent hardware to attach it to the inner fairing then the speaker is attached to the grill/adapter with 4 additional screws. If you have the later style assemblies, the J&M 7.25 speaker kit will fit with no additional parts or hardware needed.

I purchased a set of J&M 7.25 from Dr. V-Twin and got them in two days. I removed the fairing today and noticed I had J&M 5.25 speakers already installed from the previous owner. I went ahead with my install. After about 45 min I was done real easy. I have not hooked the Arc audio amp up yet or the new Alpine ipod deck, but the stock stereo with the 7.25 compared to the 5.25 was rockin. My buddy came over with his SG he has a Hog tunes amp and Pioneer 6.25 speakers we both determined that my setup as is sounded just as good as his. I will install the amp this week and post what I think the performance gain was from the Arc audio.
 
Nice!! Keep us updated on how it goes. I ordered my 7.25 from the doc a week ago and I'm chomping at the bit to get them and install them. I'm thinking about going with his amp when it comes out too.
 
I purchased the JM 7.25 speakers for my 10 SG. I received them within a couple days of ordering and had them in the bike within an hour! I played with the stock speaker set up for a while before installing and found that if you went to over a quarter bass on the settings and near half way on the treble the speakers sounded good till you hit the road and had to crank them up!! With that said the ease of install and performance gained from the JM's over stock is well worth the cost. I have had my bike up to speeds well above those posted by law and can still hear my speakers just fine, no distortion. I do plan on putting a slightly taller windshield as the stock 4" does have a bit of wind blasting you, I still had no problems hearing my stereo.

Shawn over at Dr. Vtwin is a great guy to work with, very knowledgeable and will take the time to sit on the phone and answer questions. In my case he even pulled a tech from the shop to help answer questions. You won't get that many other places, THAT'S FOR SURE!!! Not to mention they go out of their way to give you a great deal on products you buy from them!
