J&M 7.25 Speaker Review

I'm sure their is someome who has one and hopefully respond. They don't cost that much so I may just try a couple. This one I have is one of the first receiver that came out years ago. I like it because it's so easy to work on the bike. I was going to try the Harley XM radio until I saw the price.

I would recommend an Ipod. I wouldn't go any other way. I have over 5000 songs on mine and it plugs into the aux jack on the radio of the glide and plays all of the songs randomly. Awesome to say the least; now just have to upgrade the stereo. Maybe the hogtunes set up, amp, speakers, and hogpod for $400 bux. I hate radio; includng XM, too limited, now if it was like Live 365( over 200 blues stations) then it would be different, but sadly it ain't. So an Ipod it is for me.

Hey Igot a pair the new 7.25 . I have a issue with sound I ck eveything AVC too But at 65 or 70 i do have to turn the volme up all the way. tell me it is a easy fix

Check treble and bass levels and make sure you don't have the bass cranked up all the way up. Having the bass set all the way to the max causes the speakers to lose volume which is normal. The J&M's sound the best with 4 to 5 bars of bass and 3 to 4 bars of treble, but it also depends on the type of music you are listening to. It's best to turn the bass levels to 1 to 3 bars at highway speeds so the bass/low levels of music doesn't drown out the mids and highs. At highway speeds, set treble at 3 to 4 bars and bass to 1 to 3 bars and you should see an improvment in volume levels. This is what I did and at highway speeds, I never have the volume at more than 3/4 of the way up.

Also, make sure that all speaker connections inside the fairing are super tight. If they aren't secured properly, that may cause problems as well. We had a customer of ours that installed the speakers and didn't secure the speakers and one of the terminals vibrated loose and he was having sound issues. Once he secured them, the sound was there crystal clear and loud.

What source are you playing through the speakers? AM, FM, CD, iPod?

PTAG ,,,,

go into the menu options of your sat radio receiver and adjust the line out volume to maximum ,,,, and let me know how that works to get the volume up on the Harley audio system,,,,

Just installed the speakers last night, came home and my present was on the front porch. We had rode all day fighting 20 mph winds and I was dead tired, but I just had to try em. I am running the hogtunes amp, tweeter pod, and now the j&m's. The 7.25's sound incredible, I don't think you are gonna get a better sound out of a motorcycle fairing. Thanks Shawn for the patience with my questions, all my doubts are gone.

JMJohn or Dr V-Twin,
If you go to the JM website, you can order the 7.25 setup for RG now, but it doesn't say if they are in stock ready to ship, if we order now will it be backordered until the Nov. release date?

Thanks!
