J&M 7.25 Speaker Review

I've been thinking of pairing the ARC KS 125.2 mini with the J&M 7.25...has anyone tried this combo yet...willing to bet it would be a good match...thoughts anyone?

Thanks John, for the great eval on the 7.25" J&M's! It's just the ticket...I have the speakers from Dr. V-Twin (thx Shawn!), just haven't installed yet...LTD due in 1.5 weeks!?

...& I'm never using Fed-X again!!

Added small (but rather revealing) spectrographic analysis imagery by request (good idea - Uh... Rick? Rich? D'oh! Sorry - I deleted the e-mail).

Anyway - It really puts a visual nail in the coffin of the HD stock speakers...

Living in Alaska, there aren't many people here that are upgrading their stereo's on their bikes. After spend money on every other part of my bike I figured it was time to do the speakers, after hours of research, websites, and forum reads I decided on the 7.25 JM's. I ordered from Dr. V-Twin. The customer service was awesome, and a free shirt to boot, although I had to spend a little more due to shipping....UPS, FedEx and USPS all treat us Alaskans like we live in a 3rd world country.....But I received them in quick order, I installed them and went out for a ride. Now I ride with a half helmet and ear plugs, so wind noise is there but not like it is with out ear plugs, but I decided to try both ways. Long story short after all the riding, I have determined they are clearer, louder and look nice, but I think the bass is not there, but being some what of an audiophile I know magnet size has a little to do with this, the JM's have a small magnet, which makes them light and not tear up your faring, but it also make them lake the bass that I desire....notice I said "I". Was it worth the $255 I spent, not sure but like I said I can't compare to a 6.5 set....Maybe with an amp the bass might respond better. SO I guess the final word is customer service from DR. V-Twin was great, The JM's are packaged great, built well, and have clear instructions. They sound good, but for me I'm not so sure they were right for my taste. But I have them now and won't be going back to stock, maybe I will wait for JM to come out with their amp......Just my thoughts John
