While I was hunting up here in BC Canada, our R&D guys connected the Arc mini amp to the 2 ohm versions of the new J&M 7.25" speakers ,,,, and ran them at wide open volume for 11 hours, 7 different nights (77 hours total), without a failure of any kind for the amp or the speakers ,,,
when the test was over, the speakers were compared to a brand new set of J&M's and there was no difference in sound between them ,,,,
RMS and max wattage specs can both be deceiving and car speaker manufacturers have been using these specs for many, many years as a marketing ploy ,,,,,
"IF" you have an amp that puts out TRUE RMS power, with low distortion, you can use one as high as 100 watts, per individual channel, with the new J&M 7.25" speakers without problems ,,,,,
but remember ,, a low powered amp that has alot of distortion will destroy a speaker voice coil much faster than a really high powered amp with low distortion ,,,,,,
