ive lost my contacts and songs on my iphone when i tried to put a video into it.....

...how can i get em back? just today i downloaded a youtube video to my computer, i converted it to MP4 so it works to my iphone.. i went on itunes<FILE<LIBRARY<IMPORT then i selected the video hat i wanted to put into my iphone..then i clicked apply.............then on the top of the screen it was saying "backing up" and my iphone was on "syncing in PROGRESS"... now the problem is that i lost my songs and my contacts... but i dont know how to ge em back again....please if u could help e i really really appreciate that..thank you
