Im 16 years old Ive Just Swapped Brand Of Contriceptive Pill And i have got brown distcharge , does this mean im going to come on my period? I havnt had a period in 2 months because of my exams and it getting in the way so ive kept taking the pill. I also suffer from spots a little bit and i thought the pill i was taking (Microgynon 30) would help them clear up just like the pill my sisters are taking but I didnt realise they where taking Yasmin, so i booked up a doctors appmt and have been givin the Yasmin Pill instead they said not to worry about taking the 7day brake between the pill once ive finished my last 28day pill. ive now been taking Yasmin for 6days and ive started to notice brown distcharge, will this mean ill be coming on my period soon or is it just spotting?

You could have a period but I doubt it. The brown blood is just old blood being expelled.

im not sure its old blood because it has a distintive smell

Yes, it does smell a little different. As time goes on, you'll have this happen. Most every month, some small part of the menstrual blood is left behind. Eventually, the body expells it. Sometimes, if it's been a long while, it can be the worst cramps you ever had!
