I've just downloaded Adobe flash player 10, hasn't shown up on my desk top...

...although I'm told it is installed? I prefered it to Java/Quick time and wish to uninstall Java, but don't wish to to go back to the system re-booting itself spontaniously. Would it be wise to wait for the desk top icon of Adobe to appear before doing this and when should I expect the Adobe flash player icon to appear/ what should I do to place it on desk top (can't find it in programmes by the way).
Marty F, you seem to be on the right path,as I read, It is not in programmes, does that mean it's not installed even though it tells me it is after downloads? (done it twice).

Sometime when you install a program, it won't put a shortcut on your desktop. First make sure it is installed by clicking Start, all programs, then scroll through the programs and see if Adobe 10 is installed. If it's installed, right click on Adobe Flash player 10. On the next menu, there should be an option to create a shortcut to that program...choose that. Exit. Now you should have Adobe Flash Player on your desktop.
