I've heard bad things about Maaco paint shops so what paint shop should I turn to?

when you go in to get an estimate look at a few things....look at how well the estimator looks over you vechile and how close he/she gets on the details of it....glance around the shops office and if you can take a peek in the shop itself....places like maaco keep their shop area hiden so you can't see what's goin on....ask questions like "roughly how long will it take to complete".....if they say something like 2 or three days then you don't wanna go there....that usuall means they're gonna go fast and not do the job right....it means they pick quanity over quality....it's all about how the shop presents itself....you will be able to tell by how the customer service people act if it's a good shop or not....
 
I'm a professional painter.Some of the jobs I've seen from Maaco were really pretty nice considering the low cost.Heck,I can't begin to buy the supplies for what they charge for a full job. It's all about money.They have high line repaints costing over a grand that are nice and worth every bit of it. The best paint work is done by the guys that watersand then highly polish the new finish.That's the one and only way to get high gloss and no imperfections.You may need to ask around for someone like that,he might even work from his garage.
