ive got a 96 honda civic EX 2 door coupe with a oil leak?

I just bought the car not long ago and was going to change the oil and i couldn't get the drain plug out, so i took it to meineke car care for the oil change. They changed the oil and filter and told me that i had a oil leak. they said the leak was coming from the distributor and told me i need a new distributor seal. i declined the work because i can get a friend to help me with it and save some money but does this make cents? can you have a oil leak there and if so can you just buy the seal or will i need a whole new distributor. thanks for the help
