I've been sitting here trying to catch a fish

for that damn cat and I've been sitting here for 45 mins and I haven't caught a damn one. Is there some special trick or advice someone could give me?

Sadly, I'm having this problem too. Spent a good 40 minutes trying to catch a fish. I've tried all sorts of methods and nothing seems to work. Either I lift the Wiimote too quick and the bobber comes out of the water and I scare the fish away, or by the time there's tension on the line, the fish has already let go of the hook. I'm stumped and it sucks that I can't get past this part of the game.

It took me longer to figure out how to equip the rod that to catch a fish

1. Cast (hold Wii Remote up and throw forward)
2. Wait (wait for the bobber to go under)
3. Pull (Pull the Wii Remote up and hold it up until you get your fishie)
4. ???
5. Profit

I was slightly tugging it when the lure bobbed down for so long. Then I realised you're suppost to just yank it straight outta the water as soon as the bob goes down halfway.

Right after I made this post, I fired up the game again and finally got the hang of it. I think I was pulling the remote up at the wrong angle. I found if you jerk it in a diagonal motion, you have a much better chance of setting the hook than just simply causing your rod to raise out of the water.

It took me a little while to figure it out, and I was just sitting there, lol... but after getting used to it it was easy. Just pull up when the bobber goes deep under water.

I've been fishing, but I thought you had a try to hold the tension for a while before you set the hook as every time I would do a jerking motion upward it would just raise my pole out of the water.

I still have yet to do catch another fish.

What I'm doing is casting it, and then letting the rod sit all the way at the bottom. Doing it this way gets me zero results.
