ive been ill for the past week, hoping someone could share a little insight please.

ive been somewhat really sick for the past week. mild to severe stuffed nose, coughing up some mucous, headache, ears popping in & out all week, no fever or sore throat. haven't been able to smell nor taste anything for the entire duration. ive been on antibiotics for days, just finished my "Z Pack" yesterday, but still have a somewhat stuffy nose, small amount of coughing up mucous, & no smell/taste at all. . .whats going on?! i feel it stupid to ask, but could it be because i smoked for three or four days during the illness? will rest & no smoke have me back to normal?
 
Z-pack will only work if you have a bacterial infection which you don't sound like you have. Honestly? sounds like you have a virus that is taking it's time getting out of your system. I had one similar to that the other week. I had a sore throat for one day but I think it was from all the post nasal drip. Smoking and lack of rest will definitely prolong it. Get some rest, drink some tea and take a decongestant and it should go. Two warning signs though to get to the doctor would be a sore throat that lasts several days, a cough that hurts, or running a fever if you develop any of those symptoms. Hope you get better!
